Usually, when travellers like us hear the name Philippines, a bad thought often comes to mind.  But I want to assure you that keeping some bad things aside, we can enjoy a vibrant country like the Philippines which consists of 7000+ islands.  So let’s find out some facts about this incredibly beautiful country.

Basic knowledge about Philippines 

For those who do not know about the Philippines, it is good to know that the Philippines is an independent sovereign state in Southeast Asia with a population of about 100 million.  It is basically an island nation consisting of about 7000+ islands.  These are again divided into 3 parts.  They are: 

 1- Luzon. 

2- Visayas and

 3- Mindanao.  

The capital of the Philippines is Manila and the language of the country is called Filipino.

Culture of this place 

The culture of the Philippines is a culture where American and Asian cultures meet.  We all know more or less that the Philippines had a war with America around 1899 and for a long time they subjugated themselves to the Philippines.  On the other hand, the Philippines is an Asian country.  So naturally they have a combination of beautiful culture like Asia and advanced life like America.  And besides, the cuisine is a fusion of different flavours, with popular dishes like adobo and lechon.  So it goes without saying that they carry a mixed culture.

Natural beauty of Philippines 

In terms of natural form, the Philippines is mainly famous for its summer beauty. Being an island state, the movement of people like us here during summer increases a lot for enjoyment. The Chocolate Hills in Bohol, The Tubbataha Reef National Park in Palawan, and the Mayon Volcano in Bicol are just a few examples of the country’s Breathtaking natural wonders. Apart from these, Crystal-Clear Water and Lush Tropical Rain Forest can be one of the tourist destinations for you. Although the beauty of the Philippines we have seen is beyond the description, we present here a little something.

Climate in Philippines

The climate of the Philippines is mainly summer weather.  There is high temperature and high humidity throughout the year.  Being a landlocked country does not face any problems even if it is hot.  You can enjoy everything very well if you go now.

Language of Philippines

 There are 187 languages in Philippines. But  in the Philippines mainly speak 2 languages.  

1- Filipino (Tagalog). 

 2- English.  

Mainly due to the influence of the American regime, the prevalence of English language started more among them.  Then after the independence of the country they adopted it as the second national language.  If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to converse in English the entire time without any problems.

Allowed Currency 

The national currency of the Philippines is the peso.  The currency is widely circulated in the foreign exchange market. The Philippine peso is divided into 100 centavos, and there are coins and banknotes of various denominations.  Coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 500 pesos, while banknotes come in denominations of 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 pesos.  For travellers like us, it is possible to get banknotes from banks by exchanging dollars.  Currently 1 USD is equal to 56 pesos.

People’s Nature 

The people of the Philippines are famous for their warm hospitality and many friendly relations.  They respect foreigners like us very much and have no fault in hospitality.  As both of them speak English, they develop a good relationship and respect us a lot.  In many cases in a tourist spot they are the ones who help us to know where to go and where not to go.  Because it is not possible for us to know everything

Dishes in Philippines 

Philippine cuisine is basically a fusion of Spanish, Chinese, and Malaysian cuisines.  Popular dishes include adobo (a stew made with meat or seafood, vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic), lechon (roasted pig), and sinigang (a sour soup made with tamarind broth and various vegetables and proteins).  Below is a list of some of our other favourite dishes that you should also try:
