When you are landing at Bangkok, you will most probably drop at Suvarnabhumi airport. It’s the biggest international airport in bangkok with a lot of air traffic. Though After landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, here are a few things you may do:
1. Clear Immigration and Customs: Proceed through the immigration checkpoint to have your passport stamped and complete the necessary customs procedures. Follow the signs and instructions provided by airport staff.
2. Currency Exchange: Just after clearing immigration you will be doing the most important thing, grabbing some local currency (Thai Baht), you can find currency exchange counters or ATMs in the airport.In current situation an ATM will be a more suitable way for withdrawal. It’s a good idea to have some cash on hand for immediate expenses such as transportation.
3. SIM Card and Internet: After that you will need mobile data or a local SIM card, And I just got you covered. you can find several service providers at the airport. They offer various data packages to keep you connected during your stay in Bangkok. I will prefer AIS though i don’t have any connection with them but i just liked them when I visited.
4. Transportation: Suvarnabhumi Airport is well-connected to the city center by various transportation options:
– Airport Rail Link: The Airport Rail Link connects the airport to downtown Bangkok. Take the train from the airport’s basement level to reach different parts of the city quickly and affordably.
– Taxi: Head to the designated taxi stands on the ground floor to take a metered taxi to your destination. Make sure to use the official taxi service counters to avoid scams.
– Grab: You can also use ride-hailing apps such as Grab to book a private car or taxi from the airport. This is a convenient and reliable option.
– Airport Shuttle: Some hotels provide shuttle services to and from the airport. Check with your hotel in advance to see if they offer this service.
5. Luggage Storage: If you have a long layover or want to explore Bangkok without your luggage, you can use the luggage storage facilities available at the airport. These facilities are located on the basement level.
6. Refreshments and Dining: If you’re feeling hungry or thirsty, Suvarnabhumi Airport offers a wide range of dining options, including both local and international cuisine. Explore the various restaurants, cafes, and food courts throughout the airport.
7. Relaxation and Lounges: If you have access to airport lounges or want to relax before continuing your journey, Suvarnabhumi Airport has several lounges with comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and sometimes even showers and spa facilities.
